Allegany College of Maryland Hosts Sophomore Day and Community Day on February 24th

    Allegany College of Maryland (ACM) is thrilled to announce an exciting addition to its calendar this February. On February 24th, ACM will be hosting a special Community Day, inviting everyone to join in on the fun-filled festivities.

    Admission to the women's and men's basketball games will be free of cost, making it the perfect opportunity for families and basketball enthusiasts to come together and enjoy a day of spirited competition. The games will feature a friendly rivalry between ACM and Potomac State, promising an afternoon of thrilling action on the court.

    In addition to the basketball games, Community Day will also serve as a platform to honor ACM's sophomores for their dedication and achievements during their time at the college. It's a chance to recognize their hard work and celebrate their contributions to the ACM community.

    Sophomores honored are Ziahya Lomax, Morgan Taylor, Saniya Blakey, Car'Ron Brown, Cam'Ron Brown, Fidel Mpanzo, Christian Champagne, Aaron Lewis, Jeremiah Mobley, Lamont Jones, Jason Thomas, and Tyson Oghene. 

    But that's not all—Community Day will also feature a variety of fun promotional events sponsored by local businesses. The Fitted Joint and Pine Avenue Vintage, both based in Cumberland, Maryland, will be on hand to provide entertainment and giveaways throughout the day. Attendees can look forward to exciting activities and the chance to win gift cards and even a grand prize of $500, courtesy of these generous sponsors.

    While the games will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person, participants must be present to sign up for the promotional events and be eligible for the prizes. It's an opportunity to engage with the community, support local businesses, and celebrate the talent and achievements of ACM's student-athletes.

    Please note that current basketball players are not permitted to participate in the promotional events, ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all attendees.
