Cumberland, MD – Allegany College of Maryland's men's and women's basketball programs hosted a memorable Alumni Day at Bob Kirk Arena on Saturday, January 10, 2026. The Trojans faced Catonsville in an exciting doubleheader. The women's team fell to Catonsville, while the men's team secured a hard-fought victory.
At halftime of the men's game, alumni from both programs were honored for their lasting impact on ACM Athletics. The ceremony celebrated a wide range of contributors, including former players, coaches, special assistants, and even an NBA All-Star, highlighting the rich tradition and success of ACM basketball.
Honored Alumni
- Linda Mellon – Legendary ACM Women's Basketball Coach; led the Lady Trojans to a 32–3 record and a third-place finish at the 1993 national tournament.
- Courtney Crislip (Eagan) – Played from 2006–2008; currently serves as ACM Women's Basketball Assistant Coach.
- LaRae Allen – Played from 2009–2011; now ACM Women's Basketball Head Coach.
- Madison Nightengale (Crislip) – Played from 2012–2014; currently a Respiratory Therapist at UPMC.
- Tim Nightengale – Played under Coach Bob Kirk in the early 1990s; later starred at FSU and Kutztown; became a highly successful coach at Mountain Ridge High School.
- Chris Rupperkamp – Dedicated over 40 years assisting ACM Athletics, especially men's basketball.
- Turk Cole – Longtime special assistant to Coach Bob Kirk.

- Max Barrett – Played for Coach Tommie Reams from 2018–2020.
- Justin Copman – Played for Coach Tommie Reams from 2018–2020.
- Kevin Logan – Excelled in baseball and basketball from 1974–1976.
- Dave Bender – Played under Coach Kirk and alongside Roger Arnold during 1976–1978.
- Roger Arnold – active during 1976–1978.
- Steve Francis – Former ACM standout who achieved a rare quadruple-double; went on to become an NBA All-Star after starring at Maryland and being drafted #2 overall in the 1999 NBA Draft.
