Weather & Lightning Safety
Allegany College of Maryland Athletics is committed to providing a safe environment for all student-athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators. Weather conditions, including lightning activity, are monitored by ACM Sports Medicine using Perry Weather, a professional weather monitoring and lightning detection system.
In the event of severe weather or lightning in the area, ACM Sports Medicine and game management personnel will follow established safety protocols, including suspension of activity, evacuation to designated shelter areas, and implementation of return-to-play procedures. Visiting teams, officials, and event personnel will be notified of weather delays, shelter locations, and all participation decisions.
