Cumberland, MD —Allegany College of Maryland's men's and women's soccer teams delivered a dominant performance at ACM Field on Tuesday, securing back-to-back victories over CCBC Catonsville in Region 20 Division II matchups.
Women's Match Recap: Allegany 8, Catonsville 0
The Lady Trojans improved to 5-4-2 overall (4-4-2 MD JUCO) with a commanding 8–0 shutout. Sophomore forward Ava Sipes opened the scoring just two minutes into the match and added another goal in the second half, bringing her season total to 15 goals.
Emma Komatz scored twice, assisted by Sipes and Neveah Bunbasi, who also tallied a goal and two assists. Allison Scritchfield added two goals, while Adriana Meadors and Neveah Bunbasi each found the back of the net once. Madelyn Richardson contributed an assist in the final stretch.
ACM outshot Catonsville 31–5, with 24 shots on goal, and held the Cardinals to zero corner kicks. Goalkeeper Genesis Alvarez recorded 5 saves, securing her fourth shutout of the season.
Men's Match Recap: Allegany 2, Catonsville 1
The Trojans improved to 4-8-0 overall (4-7-0 MD JUCO) with a gritty 2–1 win. Gavin Clayton opened the scoring in the 44th minute off a sharp assist from Kyode Smith, marking his second goal of the season.
Catonsville equalized in the 63rd minute with a goal from Christ Dokore off a corner kick, but ACM responded quickly. Riley McCutcheon netted the game-winner in the 66th minute, his third of the season.
Both teams recorded 13 shots, but ACM's defense held strong with 10 saves, including several clutch stops in the second half. Cautions were issued to Sean Strawderman (ACM) and David Nwachukwu (Catonsville).
