Allegany College of Maryland Women's Volleyball Triumphs Over Border Rival

Cumberland, MD – In an electrifying match this evening, the Allegany College of Maryland (ACM) women's volleyball team secured a thrilling 3-1 victory over their border rival, Potomac State College. The match, which extended to four sets, saw ACM taking the first set 25-22, dropping the second 13-25, clinching the third in a nail-biting overtime 27-25, and dominating the final set 25-15.

Entering the match undefeated, ACM maintained their perfect record and now looks ahead to their upcoming game against Baltimore City Community College on Thursday. This will be the first encounter between the two teams in several seasons, adding an extra layer of excitement as ACM faces the Panthers.

Coach Brewer expressed immense pride in her team's performance, stating, "I'm super proud of how our team played today. It's a big win for us, especially to pull out a win against such a tough opponent with a history of success. There were a lot of long defensive rallies with both teams giving their all each point. This is evident by the amount of digs on both sides of the net."

Key contributions came from freshman Autumn Hoppert, who delivered crucial blocks at the end of the match, and sophomore Emmy Wilson, who led the team with 15 kills, strategically placing tips at pivotal moments.

The gym was packed with enthusiastic community members, faculty, staff, and students, creating a challenging environment for the visiting team. The support from the crowd undoubtedly played a role in boosting the team's morale and performance.

As ACM prepares for their next challenge, the team remains focused and determined to continue their winning streak. Fans are encouraged to support the team as they travel to Baltimore City Community College for what promises to be an exciting match.
