Coach Rick Twigg hired as ACM Softball Coach in 2020

ACM Softball has steadily grown under the leadership of Head Coach Rick Twigg, who was hired in 2020. Bringing decades of experience and a winning pedigree, Twigg has guided the program through its formative years, building a foundation for success while fostering a competitive culture. His commitment to player development and program growth has been evident in the team’s progress each season.

Since Twigg’s arrival, ACM Softball has posted the following records: 11-20 in 2021, 1-3 in 2022, 10-18 in 2023, 14-19 in 2024, and a program-best 17-19 in 2025. This upward trend reflects the team’s resilience and dedication, culminating in the strongest season since the program began. Each year has marked a step forward, showcasing the impact of Twigg’s leadership and the hard work of his athletes. Coach Rick Twigg’s overall record from 2021 through 2025 is 53-79.

Beyond the diamond, Coach Twigg’s story is rooted in community and family. A Fort Hill High School graduate, he played football and baseball before completing a four-year apprenticeship with IBEW Local 307 and later serving as plant manager for NEFCO Biosolids. Twigg spent 24 years coaching at Allegany High School, earning two state championships and founding the Cumberland Heat Girls’ Fastpitch Association in 1996. He resides in Cresaptown, MD with his wife Pam and is a proud father and grandfather, deeply committed to both his family and the sport he loves.
