Tommie Reams

Tommie Reams enters his 14th season at the helm of the Allegany College of Maryland Men's Basketball Program. 


He attended Southern Garrett High School before attending ACM in 2008. After graduating from ACM in 2010 he continued on to Frostburg State University earning his Bachelors in Health and Physical Education. Coach Reams then proceeded to earn a Masters degree in Physical Education – Coaching Specialization from Ball State University, and a Masters degree in Administration and Supervision from Frostburg State University. After graduating from ACM in 2010, Reams quickly returned to a role an assistant baseball coach in 2010. He served as the Assistant Men’s Basketball coach during the 2012-2013 season.

In 2013, Coach Reams, was hired as a full-time faculty member in the Physical Education Department and promoted to Head Men’s Basketball Coach. He is currently in his 12th year as a faculty member and his 6th year as the Athletic Director. His athletic experience includes playing varsity football, basketball, and baseball in high school. During his time as a Trojan, his teams amassed an 89 – 27 record and was consistently nationally ranked.  His teams were also able to win the Region 20 and North East District Championships, and compete in the NJCAA World Series in Enid, OK.

On the hardwood, Coach Reams has seen success in multiple forms. He has helped 50+ student-athletes transfer to the NAIA and NCAA DIII, DII, or DI level, with numerous All-MDJUCO, All Region 20, and All American award winners. His teams have been able to achieve multiple national rankings during his tenure.

In the 2018-2019, the Trojans won the Region 20 and East District Championships earning them a spot in the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchison, KS. Reams was awarded the District III Coach of the year award in 2019 for his efforts. In 2022-2023, Coach Reams guided Men's Basketball to 24 wins, the Region 20 D1 Championship and East District Runner-Up. In 2023-2024 season the Trojans tied a career best 26 wins on their way to earning the MDJUCO, Region 20, and East District Championships and a spot in the NJCAA National Tournament once again. in the 2024 - 2025 season, Coach Reams and the Trojans saw some adversity and injury and completed the season at 13-19.

Coach Reams resides in Cumberland, MD with his wife and daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family and working on home improvement projects.
