Allegany College of Maryland

Colin Sappenfield is an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Allegany College of Maryland, bringing experience, energy, and strong recruiting connections to the Trojans’ program. He began his college coaching career at Westmoreland County Community College before joining Allegany, where he spent three impactful seasons (2021–22 through 2023–24). During that time, he was instrumental in recruiting and roster construction, helping build the Trojans’ 2021–22, 2022–23, and 2023–24 teams — including the championship-winning and national tournament rosters.

After his first stint at ACM, Sappenfield moved to Cleveland Community College as an assistant coach, where he continued to expand his recruiting reach and coaching experience. He has since returned to Allegany, once again contributing to the Trojans’ tradition of excellence.

A product of the Dan Prete coaching tree, Sappenfield is recognized for his relentless recruiting, detail-driven approach, and commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes on and off the floor.
