Sypa Earns NJCAA Division II Third Team All-America Honors

| By:
CUMBERLAND, Md. — Allegany College of Maryland sophomore pitcher Ivan Sypa has been named to the NJCAA Division II Baseball Third Team All-America Team, becoming the third Trojan to earn All-America recognition in the past six seasons.
Sypa joins an elite group of recent ACM standouts that includes Noah Williamson (2022) and Nick Falla (2025), continuing a tradition of excellence for the Trojans on the national stage.

The sophomore left-hander capped off another dominant season on the mound, finishing with a 2.95 ERA, 105 strikeouts, and a .221 opponent batting average over 76.1 innings pitched. Sypa appeared in 21 games, making six starts while also serving as one of Allegany's most dependable relief arms throughout the season.

His 105 strikeouts ranked among the top totals in Region 20, and he struck out batters at an impressive rate while issuing just 17 walks all season. Sypa delivered several standout performances throughout the spring, including a season-high 13 strikeouts against Frederick Community College on April 21. He also recorded nine strikeouts against Cecil College and posted multiple outings of six or more strikeouts.

The All-America honor adds to an already impressive ACM career. As a freshman, Sypa earned national recognition after leading Region 20 with 103 strikeouts and establishing himself as one of the top pitchers in the NJCAA.
"Ivan has been a tremendous competitor for our program," said ACM Head Coach Mason Heyne. "His ability to attack the strike zone, trust his stuff, and compete every day is what makes him special. This recognition is a reflection of the work he's put in and the impact he's had on our program over the last two seasons."

Sypa's selection marks another significant achievement for an ACM baseball program that has continued to produce some of the nation's top talent. With Williamson, Falla, and now Sypa earning All-America honors in recent years, the Trojans have firmly established themselves among the premier junior college baseball programs in the region.
Sypa leaves Allegany as one of the most accomplished pitchers in recent program history, adding his name to the growing list of Trojans who have earned national recognition while wearing the garnet and gray.
