Trojans Earn Four All-Region 20 Honors Following Strong 2026 Season

CUMBERLAND, Md. — Following a strong 2026 campaign, Allegany College of Maryland Baseball saw four of its student-athletes earn NJCAA Region 20 postseason recognition, highlighting the impact of a talented sophomore class that played a major role in the Trojans' success.

Leading the way was freshman pitcher Ivan Sypa, who earned First Team All-Region 20 honors after establishing himself as one of the top arms in the region. Sypa posted a 2.95 ERA over 76.1 innings, striking out an impressive 105 batters while holding opponents to a .221 batting average. His consistency and ability to perform in high-leverage situations made him a cornerstone of the Trojans' rotation throughout the season.

Sypa delivered several dominant outings, including a 13-strikeout performance at Frederick Community College and multiple appearances with zero walks or hits allowed. Whether starting or coming out of the bullpen, his command, poise, and ability to generate swings and misses set the tone for the pitching staff.
In the outfield, Duke Psoras earned Second Team All-Region honors following a breakout offensive season. Psoras was one of the most dangerous hitters in Region 20, finishing with a .367 batting average, 62 hits, and a team-high 15 home runs, while driving in 57 runs. He also posted an outstanding .710 slugging percentage and reached base at a .466 clip, making him a consistent threat in the heart of the Trojans lineup.

Psoras' offensive production was complemented by his ability to impact the game in multiple ways, adding 15 stolen bases and delivering several standout performances, including a multi-home run game at Hagerstown. His ability to combine power, speed, and consistency made him one of the most complete offensive players in the conference.

Joining Psoras on the Second Team was fellow sophomore Christopher Fagot, who earned recognition for his performance on the mound. Fagot compiled a 2.66 ERA across 74.1 innings, striking out 66 batters and limiting opposing hitters to a .245 batting average.

Fagot proved to be a reliable and steady presence throughout the season, delivering quality starts and key innings in crucial moments. One of his most impressive performances came late in the season when he recorded 11 strikeouts in an 8-inning outing against CCBC Essex, allowing just two hits while showcasing his ability to dominate opposing lineups. His control and composure were key factors in the Trojans' pitching success.

Rounding out the group was sophomore outfielder Frank Diaz, who earned All-Region 20 Honorable Mention honors after putting together a strong and consistent season at the plate. Diaz finished the year batting .331, collecting 53 hits and driving in 43 runs, while also tallying 14 doubles and reaching base at a .406 on-base percentage.

Diaz delivered several memorable offensive performances, including a 4-hit game at Hagerstown and a 6-RBI effort against Prince George's Community College. His ability to come through in key situations and provide consistent production made him a valuable contributor throughout the season.

Together, Sypa, Psoras, Fagot, and Diaz represent a standout sophomore class that helped drive the Trojans' competitiveness during the 2026 season. Their postseason recognition reflects not only individual achievement but also the collective success and growth of the program.
