Trojans Battle DuBois in Monday Doubleheader

Cumberland, Md. — The Allegany College of Maryland Lady Trojans softball team hosted Penn State DuBois on Monday, coming up just short in a dramatic Game 1 before falling in the second game of the doubleheader.

Game 1: Penn State DuBois 7, Allegany College of Maryland 6
The Lady Trojans nearly erased a six-run deficit, scoring five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, but ultimately fell 7–6.
Penn State DuBois opened the scoring in the fourth with a solo home run and added four more runs in the sixth on a grand slam. ACM responded immediately, mounting a late rally highlighted by RBI singles from Alyssa Medina and Natalie Melby, along with a walk and groundout that brought runs home.
Medina, Briannah Lucas, Melby, and Raley Nestor each drove in runs for the Lady Trojans. Kayla Hill struck out eight batters in the circle, keeping ACM within reach throughout the game.

Game 2: Penn State DuBois 15, Allegany College of Maryland 1
Penn State DuBois carried its momentum into Game 2, pulling away early and securing a 15–1 victory.
DuBois scored multiple runs in each of the first four innings, including a three-run home run in the fourth. The Lady Trojans collected five hits on the day, with hits from Alyssa Medina, Breean Gay, Natalie Melby, Autumn Medina, and Jaynie Simpkins, who drove in ACM's lone run.

Despite the loss, ACM remained steady defensively and continued to compete until the final out.
The Lady Trojans return home Wednesday to face Harford Community College.
