Allegany College of Maryland freshman forward Genesis Alvarez delivered her strongest stretch of basketball this season, earning recognition as DI Women's Basketball's standout performer for January. Alvarez finished the month averaging 13.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, coming just shy of a true double-double average while emerging as one of ACM's most consistent two-way forces.

Alvarez appeared in six games throughout January, recording two double-doubles and closing the month with the best performance of her young collegiate career — a 23-point, 19-rebound, 7-steal, 3-block explosion against Anne Arundel on January 31. Her activity around the rim, defensive versatility, and relentlessness on the boards made her a problem for opposing teams all month long.
