After a 34-win season and a gritty Region 20 Tournament performance, the Allegany College of Maryland Trojans enter 2026 with experience, depth, and elevated expectations. ACM's 2025 season featured strong conference play (22–14), a dominant home record (21–10), and a postseason upset over top-seeded Frederick Community College before a one-run elimination loss ended their run.
This season, ACM returns nearly its entire sophomore core — a group that gained heavy playing time as freshmen and is now positioned to lead.

"This is one of the most balanced and competitive groups we've had in recent years, and I'm extremely excited to get this season started," said Head Coach Mason Heyne. "Our returning sophomores gained so much experience last year, and you can tell they came back with a different level of maturity and hunger. They've seen what it takes to compete in Region 20, and they've embraced the work required to take the next step."

Impact Newcomers Join the Trojans for 2026
In addition to a strong returning sophomore class, ACM welcomes a talented group of newcomers who are expected to contribute immediately on the mound and in the field.
Ivan Sypa – LHP, Freshman | Patuxent High School (MD)
One of the most decorated incoming pitchers in the region, Sypa arrives at ACM following a standout senior year at Patuxent High School. His résumé includes Pre-Season All-State, First Team All-Conference, Conference Player of the Year, All-State, and All-Met honors. Sypa also led his conference and division in strikeouts and innings pitched, demonstrating durability and high-end swing-and-miss ability. The left-hander is expected to make an immediate impact in the rotation.
Ryan Hines – INF, Sophomore | Berlin, Connecticut
A seasoned collegiate infielder, Hines joins the Trojans after previous stops at Central Connecticut State University and Patrick Henry Community College. With experience at multiple levels and a strong defensive skill set, Hines brings maturity, toughness, and reliable infield versatility. He is expected to compete for a starting role from day one.
Keegan Roach – RHP, Sophomore | Orange Park, Florida (Transfer: FSCJ)
Roach strengthens the Trojans' pitching staff after transferring from Florida State College at Jacksonville. As a freshman last season, he logged 43.2 innings and struck out 42 batters, showing strong command and the ability to navigate lineups multiple times. Off the field, Roach enjoys hunting and fishing — and on it, he brings a competitive edge and steady presence to ACM's pitching corps.
Cayden Robinson – RHP, Transfer | Jacksonville, Florida (Transfer: FSCJ)
Another key pickup from FSCJ, Robinson enters 2026 as a proven college arm with substantial freshman-year production. He threw 62.2 innings, posted a 3.50 ERA, and punched out 57 hitters across 14 appearances. His workload, efficiency, and strike-throwing ability position him as a major addition to ACM's rotation or high-leverage bullpen roles.

Coach Heyne "Our newcomers have blended in seamlessly. Ivan brings a level of poise and strike-throwing ability you don't usually see in a freshman. Ryan adds a veteran presence in the infield with a really advanced baseball IQ. And adding two arms like Keegan and Cayden — guys who already logged major innings at the college level — gives us depth and stability on the mound right away. They've elevated our practices from day one."

"Top to bottom, this roster has a great mix of leadership, athleticism, and competitiveness. We're deeper on the mound, we're more dynamic offensively, and we play with a lot of personality. The guys genuinely enjoy playing for each other. With the schedule we have and the quality of teams we're facing every week, that chemistry is going to matter. We're excited to compete, excited to defend our home field, and excited to chase another postseason run. This group is ready
