Trojans Honor Bunbasi, Campbell, Hershberger and Crist in Final Home Match of 2026 Season

| By:
CUMBERLAND, Md. — Allegany College of Maryland Women's Soccer celebrated Sophomore Day on Saturday afternoon at the ACM Soccer Field, recognizing Nevaeh Bunbasi, Sierra Campbell, Brenly Hershberger, and Larna Crist prior to the Trojans' Sophomore Recognition home match of the 2026 season.

Family, friends, teammates, and coaches gathered to honor the quartet for their dedication and contributions to a program that continues to grow following its return to regulation competition in 2024. The afternoon served as an opportunity to recognize not only each student's athletic accomplishments, but also the leadership, resilience, and commitment they brought to ACM Women's Soccer throughout their careers.

Sophomore Day Recognition

Nevaeh Bunbasi | Forward | #7

A Cumberland native and Fort Hill High School graduate, Nevaeh Bunbasi emerged as one of the Trojans' key offensive threats during her sophomore campaign.
Through the final home match of the season, Bunbasi totaled four goals, one assist, and nine points, while recording 22 shots with 15 on goal. Her best performance came in ACM's 7-1 victory over Garrett College when she scored two goals and added an assist to help fuel one of the program's most explosive offensive outings.
Bunbasi's speed, attacking instincts, and relentless effort made her a constant challenge for opposing defenses throughout the season. Beyond her statistics, she provided leadership and energy while helping mentor younger players and foster a positive team environment.

Sierra Campbell | Defender | #12

A Cumberland native and Allegany High School graduate, Sierra Campbell served as one of the anchors of the Trojan defense during her two seasons at ACM.
Campbell consistently logged heavy minutes against some of the region's strongest programs and became known for her defensive positioning, communication, and willingness to put the team's success above individual recognition. Her ability to organize the back line and compete against top attacking players helped provide stability throughout the season.
While many of her contributions will never show up on a scoresheet, Campbell's leadership, toughness, and commitment to the program have been invaluable to the continued growth of ACM Women's Soccer.

Brenly Hershberger | Defender | #16

A Fort Hill High School graduate and Cumberland native, Brenly Hershberger has been a model of consistency and determination throughout her collegiate career.
As a defender, Hershberger routinely matched up against some of the top offenses in Region 20 while helping set the tone for the team's defensive effort. She appeared in every match during the season and was counted on as a dependable presence on the field and in the locker room.
Her work ethic, dedication, and willingness to embrace every challenge helped make her a respected leader among teammates and coaches alike.

Larna Crist

Although an injury prevented Larna Crist from competing during the 2026 season, her impact on the program remained significant.
Throughout her recovery, Crist continued supporting her teammates during training sessions, matches, and team activities while demonstrating the perseverance and resilience that embody Trojan Athletics. Her positive attitude and team-first mentality made her an important part of the program despite being unable to contribute on the field this season.
Crist's commitment to her teammates served as an example for younger players and highlighted the importance of leadership in all forms.

Coaches Reflect on the Sophomore Class

"This group has meant so much to our program," said Head Coach Mo Pratt. "They've helped continue the growth of ACM Women's Soccer through their commitment, leadership, and willingness to represent Allegany the right way every day. Each of these sophomores has left a positive mark on our program, and we're grateful for everything they've contributed."

Associate Head Coach Colton Gardelle echoed those sentiments.

"Our sophomores have helped establish the culture we're continuing to build," Gardelle said. "Whether it was through leadership on the field, supporting teammates through difficult moments, battling through adversity, or simply showing up every day ready to work, they've helped move this program forward. We're proud of everything they've accomplished and excited to see what's next for each of them."

Season Highlights

The 2026 season featured several memorable moments for the Trojans as they continued building momentum within Region 20 competition.
ACM opened the home portion of the season with a dominant 7-1 victory over Garrett College, one of the highest-scoring performances in recent program history. The Trojans followed that effort with a dramatic 4-3 victory over WVU Potomac State College, showcasing their resilience and ability to finish in crucial moments.
One of the season's signature wins came on Oct. 13 when ACM traveled to Columbia and defeated Howard Community College, 3-1, earning a road victory against one of the region's established programs.
The Trojans finished the regular season with a 3-9-1 overall record, but the results only tell part of the story. Throughout the year, ACM competed against many of the strongest teams in Maryland junior college soccer while continuing to develop a young roster and strengthen the foundation of the program.
Defensively, Campbell and Hershberger helped lead a back line that regularly faced some of the region's top offensive attacks. Offensively, Bunbasi emerged as one of the team's most dangerous scoring threats. Crist provided leadership and support throughout her recovery process, continuing to influence the team's culture despite being sidelined by injury.

Building for the Future

Tuesday's home finale marked another milestone for a program that continues to grow after returning to competition following a 20-year absence. While the season included challenges, the Trojans demonstrated significant growth, gained valuable experience, and continued establishing a culture centered on hard work, accountability, and perseverance.
More importantly, the afternoon provided an opportunity to celebrate a sophomore class whose contributions have helped shape the future of ACM Women's Soccer. Their influence extends far beyond wins and losses, and their leadership will continue to impact the program for years to come.
As the Trojans look ahead to the future, ACM Women's Soccer is actively seeking student-athletes interested in continuing their soccer careers at the collegiate level.
