Cumberland, MD — January 31, 2026 — Allegany College of Maryland earned a dominant home sweep on Saturday inside Bob Kirk Arena, as both the women's and men's teams secured convincing wins over Anne Arundel Community College in Region 20 action.
Women's Basketball: ACM 60, Anne Arundel 36
ACM controlled the game from start to finish, locking in defensively and outscoring Anne Arundel in all four quarters to earn a 60–36 victory.
Genesis Alvarez powered the Trojans with a monster performance, posting 23 points, 19 rebounds, and 7 steals while going 9-of-24 from the floor. Isabella Echeverria added a strong double-digit effort with 12 points and 9 rebounds, and Kalea Ferguson chipped in 8 points, 12 boards, and 3 assists in a complete 40-minute effort.
ACM's defensive pressure set the tone early, holding Anne Arundel to just 13 first-half points and forcing 27 turnovers on the night. The Trojans dominated the glass with a 61–32 rebounding advantage, creating 23 second-chance opportunities and keeping control throughout.
ACM steadily extended its lead each quarter, closing the game with a 16-11 fourth-quarter surge to seal the win and improve its Region 20 standing.

Men's Basketball: ACM 110, Anne Arundel 75
Allegany College of Maryland put on an offensive showcase Saturday afternoon, rolling past Anne Arundel Community College 110–75 at Bob Kirk Arena to cap off a sweep of the January 31 doubleheader.
The Trojans exploded for 54 first-half points, building a 32-point halftime cushion, and continued their pace with a 56-point second half. ACM finished an exceptional 59.7% from the field, 35.7% from three, and 81.3% at the free-throw line while dominating the glass with a 51–22 rebounding advantage.
Manny Okitondo led the charge with an efficient 21 points and 11 rebounds on 9-of-15 shooting. Alex Byrd added a powerful double-double of his own, posting 18 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 8-of-14 from the floor.
ACM saw outstanding balance throughout its rotation, placing seven players in double figures, including:
Defensively, ACM forced 14 turnovers, came away with 11 steals, and limited AACC to just 3-for-21 from three-point range (14.3%). Second-chance scoring also played a major role, as the Trojans converted 17 offensive boards into consistent paint production.
AACC's Ryan Stacy led all scorers with 23 points, while Al-Ameen Sanni added 20.
With the win, ACM improves to 12–6 overall and 5–1 in Region 20, continuing to build momentum as February play approaches.
