Allegany College of Maryland Trojans Split Series with D2 Ranked Frederick Community College Cougars
Game 1 Recap:Â The #10 Frederick Community College Cougars showcased their prowess early in the first game, capitalizing on errors and timely hits to build a commanding lead. In the first inning, S. Karpaitis reached first on an error by the shortstop, allowing A. Varga to score an unearned run. J. Downey and W. Gisriel followed with a single, bringing in another unearned run. L. Alfaro's sacrifice fly added another unearned run, making it 3-0.
The Cougars continued their offensive in the second inning with J. Downey reaching on a fielder's choice, driving in B. Kelman. By the third inning, C. Westerber reached first on an error by the second baseman, allowing W. Gisriel to score yet another unearned run, extending the lead to 5-0.

The game remained tight, with Allegany College holding onto their 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Nick Falla took the mound for the Trojans, delivering a stellar performance. Despite a single by C. Swinimer and his subsequent stolen base, Falla managed to retire the next batters, J. Downey and W. Gisriel, with fly outs to shortstop, securing the win for Allegany College over D2 ranked FCC.Â
