KEYSER, W.Va. — WVU Potomac State College used a dominant third quarter to break open a close game and defeat Allegany College of Maryland, 77–50, in MD JUCO women's basketball action Monday evening.

The Catamounts (7–2, 1–1) led 36–24 at halftime, but the contest was still within reach for the Trojans (1–8, 0–4). That changed after the break. Potomac State erupted for 27 points in the third quarter, shooting 61% from the field during the frame to stretch the lead to 63–39 heading into the fourth.

Miya Harris paced the Catamounts with a game-high 26 points, knocking down four three-pointers and going a perfect 8-for-8 at the line. She also dished out seven assists and grabbed six rebounds in a complete performance. Mya Glisan added 20 points and 13 rebounds, giving Potomac State a strong inside presence.

Allegany battled hard despite shooting struggles, finishing at 18.5% from the field. Layla Miller led the Trojans with 15 points, while Danika Barnes posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Genesis Alvarez chipped in seven points and eight boards.

The Trojans were effective at the free-throw line, converting 25-of-32 attempts (78%), but couldn't overcome Potomac State's balanced attack and rebounding advantage (47–35). The Catamounts also received 22 points from their bench and scored 28 points in the paint.

Allegany will look to regroup as they continue conference play, while Potomac State aims to build on the momentum from this convincing home win.
