Allegany College of Maryland
“Kylie is a proven recruiter and an organized program builder. Her passion for student-athlete development makes her an ideal fit for ACM.” — Tommie Reams, Director of Athletics
Kylie Heyne begins her first season at the helm of the Allegany College of Maryland women’s volleyball program, bringing more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience and a distinguished playing career to Trojan Square. She arrives at ACM following successful head coaching stops at Frostburg State University and Davis & Elkins College, where she established a reputation for competitive consistency, academic accountability, and program-wide growth.
Coaching Background
Heyne spent the 2020–2024 seasons leading the Frostburg State University women’s volleyball program at the NCAA Division II level. She directed all aspects of the program, including recruiting, budgeting, scheduling, scholarship management, and academic oversight. During her tenure, she strengthened the program’s operational structure, expanded its foundation account from $900 to more than $15,000, and enhanced academic support systems for student-athletes.
Before returning to Frostburg as head coach, Heyne guided Davis & Elkins College from 2015–2020. Her teams earned four straight conference tournament appearances, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the 2016 G-MAC Championship. She coached six all-conference selections and contributed to the college’s academic mission by teaching courses in Health & Wellness, Volleyball, and Pickleball.
Her coaching career also includes roles at California University of Pennsylvania, Ashland High School, and the Siskiyou Volleyball Club.
“Coaching extends far beyond wins and losses. It’s about accountability, growth, and helping young women reach their potential.” — Kylie Heyne
Playing Career
A standout setter at Frostburg State University from 2008–2011, Heyne remains one of the most decorated players in program history. She was a four-time all-conference selection and became the program’s third All-American while helping the Bobcats to 108 wins, three NCAA Tournament appearances, and the program’s only Sweet 16 berth in 2010.
She is Frostburg State’s all-time leader in assists (4,576) and holds three of the top six single-season assist totals in school history. Her achievements earned her induction into the Frostburg State University Athletics Hall of Fame.
