Adam Sterne brings decades of coaching, officiating, and leadership experience to the Allegany College of Maryland softball program. He joined the coaching staff in 2024, continuing a long-standing commitment to youth and collegiate athletics across the region.
Adam has coached at multiple levels, including high school basketball and soccer, travel softball, and collegiate athletics. His coaching resume includes roles at Frankfort High School (Basketball, 2001–2011), Allegany High School (Soccer and Softball, 2018–2022), and the Cumberland Heat Travel Team (2019–2020). He began his tenure with ACM Athletics in 2023 and transitioned to softball in 2024.
In addition to coaching, Adam has served as a soccer referee since 1992, including over two decades at the collegiate level (2001–2024), and recently began officiating high school basketball in 2023.
Outside of athletics, Adam works as an Estimator and Project Manager at Carl Belt, Inc. He is deeply involved in community service, serving on the Dapper Dan Club Executive Board since 1992, acting as Commissioner of Dapper Dan Little League Baseball since 2005, and holding leadership roles with the Cumberland YMCA Board of Directors, including Board President from 2019 to 2023.
Adam’s dedication to sports, youth development, and community leadership makes him a valued member of the ACM coaching staff.
