Cumberland, MD — The Allegany College of Maryland Cross Country team is gearing up for an exciting 2026 season with a slew of new faces. Head Coach Will Giles is looking forward to acclimating new team members to campus and providing a fun, competitive environment for them to grow as student-athletes.
New and Exciting Talent
The Trojans welcome five new faces, each bringing their own unique strengths to the team:
· Jerrod Griffin joins the team from Melbourne, FL, after a successful four-year high school career at Melbourne High School. Jerrod brings a wealth of XC experience and a competitive mindset to the team.
· Isaiah Horne hails from Lanham, MD, and accompanies the collective in his first season on the XC squad as a sophomore. Isaiah is expected to use his athleticism and background in competitive sports to make an immediate impact.
· Taylor Fletcher, an Allegany High School graduate from LaVale, MD, joins the team after a strong high school career. Her enthusiasm and willingness to push herself has been immediately evident, and she is excited to grow as a student-athlete this year.
· Layna Bradley brings XC experience from her early high school days and is excited to tackle this new challenge at Allegany College of MD. She hails from Cumberland, MD, adding to the squad's local leadership.

Looking Ahead
A new group of athletes brings exciting possibilities for the team! I expect our men's women's programs to show well in regional meets and improve throughout the fall. The squad is eager to push themselves as the season progresses, and I have no doubt their hard work will lead towards Trojan triumph! As always, the ACM community is encouraged to come out and support the team throughout the season.
