Natalie Melby Named ACM Trojans Outstanding Female Student-Athlete of the Year (2025–2026)

Natalie Melby as the
2025–2026 Outstanding Female Student-Athlete of the Year, an honor voted on by the entire athletic administration and staff to celebrate excellence in athletics, academics, leadership, and character.
Melby's selection highlights a standout two-year career with ACM Softball, where she established herself as one of the most impactful and consistent players in Region 20 while also maintaining a high level of academic achievement.
A Dominant Presence on the Field
From the moment she stepped onto the field as a freshman, Melby made an immediate impact offensively, putting together one of the most impressive debut seasons in recent program history. She finished her freshman campaign batting an exceptional
.462, collecting
55 hits, scoring
46 runs, and driving in
27 RBIs. She added
10 doubles, 2 triples, and a
.522 on-base percentage, while going a perfect
21-for-21 in stolen bases, establishing herself as both a dynamic hitter and a threat on the bases.
Her performance earned her
Second Team All-Region 20 and
Second Team All-Maryland JUCO honors, along with multiple
Region 20 Athlete of the Month nominations.
Melby continued her production into her sophomore season, again leading by example at the plate. She batted
.389 across 31 starts, totaling
35 hits,
34 runs, and
20 RBIs, while posting a
1.053 OPS and an outstanding
.509 on-base percentage. She added
8 doubles, walked 19 times, and was once again perfect on the bases, finishing
9-for-9 in stolen base attempts.
Her consistency, discipline, and ability to perform in key moments helped earn her
Team MVP honors during her sophomore season and positioned her for additional postseason recognition.

Associate's Degree in General Studies, while consistently excelling in the classroom.

Dean's List every semester during her time at ACM, demonstrating her ability to balance the demands of collegiate athletics and academics at a high level.
Her commitment to academics reflects the values of the Trojan athletic department and the expectations placed on student-athletes to succeed both on and off the field.
Taking the Next Step
Following her time at ACM, Melby will continue her academic and athletic journey at
Towson University, where she will carry forward the experience and foundation built during her time as a Trojan.
