The Lady Trojans Softball team delivered an emphatic performance on Tuesday afternoon, rolling to a doubleheader sweep over out-of-conference opponent Christendom College at Lady Trojans Softball Field by scores of 19–0 and 27–0.
Game One: Lady Trojans 19, Christendom 0
The Lady Trojans set the tone early in the opener, putting runs on the board immediately in the bottom of the first inning. A combination of patience at the plate and timely hitting fueled the offense, highlighted by run-scoring singles from Kayla Hill and Briannah Lucas.
The Trojans added to their lead in the second inning before breaking the game wide open in the third. Izzy Echeverria delivered the biggest blow of the game with a bases-clearing double, part of a seven-run inning that featured contributions throughout the lineup.
Hill was dominant in the circle, earning the win after tossing three shutout innings, allowing just one hit while striking out six. Autumn Medina followed with two scoreless innings in relief, striking out four and keeping Christendom off balance.
Offensively, the Lady Trojans recorded 11 hits and showed strong discipline, drawing 14 walks. Echeverria led the way with four RBIs, while Lucas, Natalie Melby, Morgan Weimer, and Echeverria each collected multiple hits.
Game Two: Lady Trojans 27, Christendom 0
The nightcap was even more explosive, as the Lady Trojans scored 17 runs in the first inning, capitalizing on walks, extra-base hits, and aggressive baserunning to seize early control.
Natalie Melby was unstoppable at the plate, driving in five runs on four hits, including two doubles. Weimer added a big performance of her own, collecting six RBIs, while nearly every Trojan in the lineup reached base safely.
Hill earned her second win of the day after throwing two perfect innings, and Medina again impressed in relief, tossing three scoreless innings while allowing just three hits. Defensively, the Lady Trojans were sharp, committing no errors and turning a double play.
In total, the Trojans tallied 16 hits and drew 15 walks in the decisive victory, showcasing both offensive depth and discipline.
