On a beautiful Saturday, August 23rd, the Allegany College of Maryland softball program welcomed local youth athletes to the ACM softball field for its annual Hitting Clinic, a cherished tradition that marks the beginning of the semester and fall ball season.

Led by Head Coach Rick Twigg, Assistant Coach Kayla Dodson, and their newest Lady Trojan recruits for the 2025 season, the clinic offered a chance for incoming players to bond, sharpen their skills, and connect with the community.

Coach Rick Twigg shared, "This clinic is more than just a workout—it's a way for our team to build chemistry early and give back to the local softball community. We're always grateful for the opportunity to work with young athletes."

Coach Kayla Dodson added, "It's amazing to see our new players step into leadership roles right away. Watching them teach and interact with the youth is a reminder of why we do this every year."

The event not only helped the Lady Trojans get to know each other quickly, but also served the ultimate goal of training and fine-tuning skills while inspiring the next generation of softball players.
 

The ACM Softball Team extends a heartfelt thank you to every young lady who attended, and to ACM Athletics for their continued support in hosting this event. The team looks forward to seeing new fans in the stands during both the fall and spring seasons.
