Box Score 2 The ACM Trojans volleyball team entered the weekend with a solid 10-3 record, facing Carroll Community College and Anne Arundel on the road in a crucial tri-match. With only three games remaining after this weekend, ACM aimed to bolster their overall record in the NJCAA Region 20 and secure a favorable seeding for the Region 20 D2 tournament at the end of October. A sweep today would almost guarantee a desirable seeding. Coach Joey Brewer expressed his satisfaction after the two victories, stating, "This is probably the best we played all season. Nailevid did an excellent job running our offense, making good decisions and putting our hitters in good positions. The match with Carroll had some great defensive rallies on both sides, but we were able to win a lot of those. Overall, every player on our team contributed to the win and performed at an outstanding level today!"
Against Anne Arundel, Nailevid Lorenzo-Lopez recorded 27 assists, while Emmy Wilson contributed 12 kills and 2 solo blocks. Freshman Autumn Hoppert added 5 kills, 1 solo block, and 3 block assists. In the match against Carroll Community College, Nailevid Lorenzo-Lopez achieved a season and team high of 34 assists, along with 2 kills and 1 ace. Emmy Wilson impressed with 12 blocks and 2 aces, Sadie Bayko delivered 16 kills and a massive block, Jaci Rowe facilitated with 5 kills and 15 digs, and Autumn Hoppert continued her strong performance with 3 blocks and a block assist. Avery Tipton and Zoey Bottenfield each contributed 13 digs. The Trojans showcased their depth and versatility, with significant contributions from every player. Coach Brewer was particularly proud of the team's defensive efforts and the impressive stat lines across the board.
Next up for Coach Brewer's Trojans is an away match at Washington Adventist University, a non-NJCAA opponent, on Monday at 7 PM. The team looks to continue their momentum and fine-tune their performance as they approach the critical final stretch of the season.
