Coach Kayla Dodson is heading into her third season as the assistant softball coach at Allegany College of Maryland.
Prior to ACM, Coach Kay spent 5 years as head JV/assistant varsity softball coach at Fort Hill High School. She has also been a part of the Cumberland Heat Girls' Fast pitch Association for 7 years and counting. During this time, she has served as assistant coach and, now, secretary of the organization.
As a player, she played at Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, MD as well as for Cumberland Heat under current ACM head coach, Rick Twigg.
Upon graduation, Coach Kay attended ACM for 2 years in which she participated in volleyball, basketball, and softball. She then transferred to Frostburg State University where she received her bachelor's degree in social sciences and then her Master’s degree in the art of teaching. Coach Kay currently teaches in Allegany County.
Coach Kay likes to spend her spare time with her husband, traveling as much as possible, or at the ball field. She resides in Cresaptown, MD with her husband, Eric and dog, Luna.Â
