Allegany College of Maryland had an outstanding 2025 season, finishing with an overall record of
32-23. This achievement marks their first 30+ win season since 2011 under the legendary Hall of Fame Coach Steve Bazarnic. The team's performance this year has been a testament to their hard work, dedication, and strategic play.
Nick Falla, a sophomore right-handed pitcher, has been a standout player this season. Falla has brought valuable experience and skill to the Trojans, having transferred from Chattanooga State Community College.
Tyler Serb, another key player, has been a pitching stalwart with an impressive record of 4 wins, no losses, and 39 strikeouts. His consistent performance on the mound has been crucial for the team's success.
Konner Pittman led the team with a .395 batting average and 51 RBIs, making him a cornerstone of Allegany's offense.
Josh Regalla followed closely with a .366 batting average and 43 RBIs, consistently delivering at the plate.
Brandon Diaz-Valentin's solid .347 batting average made him a reliable hitter throughout the season, while
Johnny Antonelli contributed with a .337 batting average and 30 RBIs, stepping up in crucial moments.
Carson Bradley, known for his speed, added a dynamic element to the team's strategy with a .306 batting average and 19 stolen bases.
Dylan Adams has been a versatile and resilient infielder, contributing with a .268 batting average, 7 home runs, and 26 RBIs.
Vladimir Breton has shown promise as an infielder with a .227 batting average, 2 home runs, and 16 RBIs.
Duke Psoras, an outfielder, has contributed significantly with a .275 batting average, 5 home runs, and 29 RBIs.
Manuel Cartagena, a utility player, has been a valuable asset with a .262 batting average, 3 home runs, and 21 RBIs.
The team's balanced approach, combining strong batting with strategic base running and solid defense, has been instrumental in their successful season. The coaching staff and players alike have set a high bar for future seasons, building on this year's achievements.
Regional Baseball Tournament Schedule
Allegany College of Maryland enters the NJCAA Region 20 tournament as the #4 seed in the East Division. The first game is a play-in game for the tournament, starting later this week. Frederick Community College has earned the #1 seed and will host the West Division. Montgomery College is the #5 seed in the West Division. The winner of the play-in game will face the #1 overall seed and host, Frederick Community College.
Montgomery College, known as the Raptors, has had a challenging season with an overall record of 14-29. Despite their struggles, they have shown moments of strong play, particularly in their matchups against Allegany College of Maryland. The Trojans faced Montgomery twice this season, splitting the series with a 13-3 win and a narrow 1-0 loss. And later in the season sweeping 4-1 and 6-5. These games highlighted the competitive nature of both teams and set the stage for an exciting tournament.
Athletic Director Tommie Reams expressed his excitement for playoff baseball being hosted at Steve Bazarnic Field: "We are thrilled to host the NJCAA Region 20 playoffs at Steve Bazarnic Field. It's a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together and support our team. We look forward to some great baseball and hope to see many fans in the stands."
Head Coach
Mason Heyne shared his thoughts on his squad and their preparedness for a long playoff run: "Our team has worked incredibly hard this season, and I believe we are ready for a strong playoff run. We have a solid mix of experienced players and talented newcomers. The guys are focused and determined, and I am confident in their ability to perform under pressure."
