Jaylen Brown Earns NJCAA Region 20 Division I All-Region First Team Honors
Cumberland, MD – Allegany College of Maryland is proud to announce that Jaylen Brown has been named to the NJCAA Region 20 Division I All-Region First Team for the 2024-25 season. This prestigious recognition highlights Jaylen's exceptional performance and dedication on the basketball court.
Jaylen Brown, a freshman guard, has been a standout player for the Trojans. His impressive stats for the season include averaging 17 points, 5.6 rebounds, six assists, and 2.4 steals per game. Jaylen's shooting percentages are equally impressive, with a field goal percentage of 54% and a free throw percentage of 85%. One of his best performances came in an overtime win against CCBC Dundalk, where he played all 45 minutes and scored 21 points, including 10 points in the overtime period. Jaylen's dedication to both his athletic and academic pursuits is evident, as he was also named to the Dean's List for Fall 2024. Additionally, Jaylen was awarded NJCAA Region 20 Player of the Month in January for his exceptional play.

Alex Byrd Earns NJCAA Region 20 Division I Honorable Mention
In addition, Allegany College of Maryland is proud to announce that Alex Byrd has earned Honorable Mention for the NJCAA Region 20 Division I All-Region team for the 2024-25 season. This recognition highlights Alex's exceptional performance and dedication on the basketball court.
Alex Byrd, a freshman wing, has been a key contributor to the Trojans' success. Alex's stats for the season include averaging 13.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He has a field goal percentage of 47% and a free throw percentage of 76.5%. Alex's best game was against WVU Potomac State College, where he scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. His hard work and commitment have also been recognized academically, as he was named to the Honor's List.
