The Lady Trojans Softball team wrapped up their fall season in dominant fashion, securing two impressive road victories over Hagerstown Community College on Saturday.
In the first matchup, Allegany College of Maryland exploded for seven runs in the opening inning en route to a 10–4 win. The offensive surge was fueled by key hits from Kayla Hill, who doubled to drive in two runs, Morgan Weimer with an RBI single, Briannah Lucas with a two-run single, Lanie Iski with an RBI single, and Raley Nestor, who grounded out to bring in another run.
The Lady Trojans added one more run in the second inning on another RBI single from Weimer, extending the lead to 8–1. In the third, Natalie Melby and Breean Gay each delivered RBI singles to push the score to 10–1.
Brylee Bateson started in the circle, allowing five hits and three runs (two earned) over two innings. Kayla Hill came in as relief to close out the game. The Trojans' bats were hot, tallying 14 hits. Weimer and Hill each drove in two runs, while Jaynie Simpkins led the team with a perfect 3-for-3 performance. Gay and Iski also recorded multiple hits.
In the second game of the doubleheader, the Lady Trojans edged out Hagerstown in a thrilling 5–4 comeback win. Down 4–3 in the fifth inning, Autumn Medina delivered a clutch RBI single to center field, giving ACM the lead for good.
Earlier in the game, Hagerstown struck first with an RBI single from Cayleigh Laughlin. The Trojans responded in the third when Natalie Melby stole home and Hill singled to center, each plating a run. Hagerstown regained the lead in the bottom of the third, but ACM's late rally sealed the win.
Breean Gay earned the win in relief, tossing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Autumn Medina started the game, allowing three runs (two earned) over three innings with two strikeouts. Hill led the offense with two RBIs, while Medina and Simpkins each collected two hits. Melby added two stolen bases, and the team drew five walks and swiped three bases.
Hagerstown's Laughlin, Buhrman, Jones, and Higgins each tallied two hits, with Buhrman leading the defense with four fielding chances.
With these back-to-back wins, the Lady Trojans close out their fall season on a high note, showcasing depth, resilience, and a balanced attack. The team now looks ahead to building momentum for the spring season.
