ACM Softball Fall 2024 Preseason Kicks Off with a Win and a Tie

Game 1: ACM Softball Dominates Hagerstown Community College 12-2

ACM Softball Fall 2024 started their preseason with a commanding 12-2 victory over Hagerstown Community College. The team set the tone early, scoring in the first inning with a series of singles, including a key hit from Makenna Richards. Richards and Ryanne Martinez continued to shine, contributing significantly to the team's early lead with a triple and a single, respectively.

Kayla Hill secured the win, allowing just two hits and two runs over four innings while striking out four. Martinez also played a crucial role, earning the save. The offensive lineup was led by Richards, Martinez, and Hailee Jenkins, each collecting two hits. Emma Komatz demonstrated patience at the plate, drawing three walks. The team's disciplined approach resulted in seven walks overall and a solid defensive performance, including a double play.

Game 2: ACM Softball and Hagerstown Community College Battle to a 7-7 Tie

In a closely contested second game, ACM Softball Fall 2024 and Hagerstown Community College ended in a 7-7 tie. Hagerstown took an early lead, but ACM fought back with a strong fifth inning, highlighted by Richards' and Jenkins' clutch hits. Kayla Hill pitched three scoreless innings in relief, striking out six.

Despite the tie, ACM showed resilience and a strong eye at the plate, drawing 11 walks. Richards and Jenkins each had two hits, while Komatz and Jenkins drove in two runs apiece. The team will look to build on these performances as they head to Frederick Community College for their next game.
