Today, Allegany College of Maryland proudly joins institutions across the country in celebrating the ninth annual NJCAA Day, a nationwide recognition of opportunity, history, and unity within the National Junior College Athletic Association.

This year's theme, Empower the Future: Building Legacies, shines a spotlight on the transformative power of the two-year college route and the lasting impact of NJCAA student-athletes—past, present, and future. At ACM, that legacy is alive and thriving.

From the soccer pitch to the volleyball court, ACM student-athletes embody the values of perseverance, growth, and excellence. Their journeys reflect the NJCAA's mission to provide the tools for success both on the field and in the classroom, while instilling the confidence to chase dreams and achieve goals.

"NJCAA Day is an opportunity to shed a light on the many lives impacted by the association and highlight the amazing legacies of current and former NJCAA student-athletes," said Dr. Christopher J. Parker, NJCAA President & CEO. "With this year's theme, we look forward to celebrating all who built their legacies after having chosen the junior college route and look forward to sharing our game plan for continuing to build legacies for generations to come."

ACM celebrates the achievements of its student-athletes who have chosen the junior college path to pursue academic and athletic excellence. Standouts like Jaylen Brown, who earned All-Region honors in basketball, and Emmy Wilson, a dual-sport athlete in volleyball and soccer, exemplify the strength and versatility of ACM's athletic program. Student-athletes such as Carson Bradley and Morgan Taylor continue to propel forward, transferring to four-year universities to pursue both academic and athletic goals.

The legacy of ACM Athletics stretches back decades, with alumni success stories that began right here in Cumberland. From regional honors to national recognition, ACM student-athletes continue to build a legacy of opportunity, impact, and excellence.

Last year's theme, Empower the Future, encouraged others to consider the two-year route by showcasing the accomplishments of NJCAA athletes. This year, the focus expands to legacy—honoring those who have paved the way and inspiring future generations to follow.
